| Of course, like many stories, it will go like a few chapters of childhood. Chapter 1: A Beginning - Spoiler:
A child stood there, wind grasped her black hair like icy fingers and her blue eyes shone in the pale moonlight. Her breathing was calm and tuned in with the earth. She was peering over a cliff, remembering how her father had left the small island that some claimed had 'fallen off the map'. But she knew it was here, that was good. She raced down a dirt path hardened by many shoes and hers where to add. The wind had calmed to a whisper, also remembering the day her father had told her not to follow him. She knew his heart was always beating along with the waves. Her feet sunk into the soft sand. "Rose!" Called a voice, the girl looked over, her mother clambered down the path. "Mother." Rose muttered. "Of course, she wants to join her father in the Godforsaken seas. She's a lady, and she must remember it!" The mother grumbled to herself, then looking up she barked "Come back up here, didn't I tell you to NEVER come down here again?!" Rose stuck her tongue out and walked slowly, dragging her feet in the sand.
Chapter 2: Ice Cold - Spoiler:
Rose frowned as her mother's hand wrapped around her wrist, her long nails dug into her wrist "Ow!" Rose called out, pulling back. "Ugh, no time for this, now, hurry! You need some rest." Her mother told her sternly. "For?" Rose grumbled. "For positive energy, I hate it when there's grumpy children moping around." She said shrilly. Rose heaved a sigh, her lungs ached with the effort. She dragged herself into bed, her eyes felt heavy as sleep drowned out her mother's grumbling. Blinking awake Rose looked around, groggily. She climbed out of her house down a gravel road to the main part of the island, hoping to see one of her friends. She came into the town, she scurried past the markets, the tempting scent of bread filled her nose. "Ellie!" Rose shouted, turning around there was a curly brown haired girl with brown eyes in a blue dress. "Where are you off to?" Rose asked. Ellie scowled "None of your business, now go bug off." Rose looked crestfallen, Ellie was barely this upsetting. "Fine!" She shouted, storming away. Tears stung her throat "Crying is for babies." Rose told herself, resisting the urge to sprint to the beach, not again would her mother's long nails pierce her skin.
Chapter 3: Going against it - Spoiler:
She sat on her bed. She wanted to go do something... But what? Her eyes narrowed as her mother came in. "What?" Snapped Rose. Her mother looked at her calmly "I heard about Ellie." She said, unsure of how to comfort her daughter. "Yeah?" Rose muttered. Her eyes looked away from her mother's hazel eyes. "I'm sorry." Rose's mother said. Rose tensed. "I want to be a pirate." Rose said. Her mother sighed "I'm not going to allow that. You are going to be a lady." Her long sandy blond hair was pulled into a bun. "No." Rose whispered. Her mother frowned "Yes. Your just like your father, looks, ambition... Temper." "Good. I don't want to be like you." Rose snapped. Her mother looked hurt, but Rose got up "I'm going to that beach, and you can't make me get back. I'm gonna go to Tortuga and battle with enemies. I'll sail the ocean and never find a permanent home. Except my ship." Rose said defiantly.
Chapter 4: Sweet Escape - Spoiler:
"Take that talk off your mind!" Spat her mother. "Make me." Rose growled lowly. Her mother narrowed her eyes "Fine." And left. Rose didn't care what her mother said, the only problem in her brain was how was she going to leave this island? Her mother came back in, slamming the door and leaning against it. "Don't you dare go outside!" Her mother warned. Rose's eyes reflected her curiousity "Pirates!" Growled Rose's mom. Rose put her head up "Pirates?" She echoed. Her mother sighed "Yes. But I forbid you to go and see them!" She snarled. Rose's brain had a brilliant idea. She started packing. "What in your father's name are you doing?" Her mother asked. Rose looked at her mother "As much as I love you," She paused, trying to not look as though she was lying, "I'm going to follow my ambition. You might hear of me when I grow up, maybe not, but I'll make sure that others do. You all will echo my name Captain Rose Jones!" And she ran out, slinging her pack over her shoulder.
Chapter 5: Earlier and later, Plus a new face - Spoiler:
Rose came into the heavy air of battle, slipping around fallen bodies, her eyes widened as she saw Ellie down, blxxd staining her pretty blue dress. What a lovely sight... Rose's eyes didn't brim with tears, nor did she feel guilty. "Good." She muttered. "I'll dance on her grave if I ever come back." She rasped, "ROSE!" Cried a store merchant. "Mr. Lecip?" She asked looking up. He put his arms around her. "Thank God you aren't along side Ellie." Mr. Lecip wept. Rose was confused. "Wouldn't Ellie of been smarter...?" She was only 6 and adventurous then. Her mother had re-married, quoting 'You have always wanted a father to grow up with!'. That was when she was 13. She re-married to a man named Tyler Regit. She refused to be called Rose Regit, so she stuck with Rose Jones. He owned basically nothing and worked for Mr. Lecip. She ignored him. He tried to bond with her, but she shut him out of her heart. He was nothing like the stories she had heard of her own father. Nothing. She swore that she'd get off of this island, and she tried to stick to it. When she turned 15 a new boy had come into the island. "Why would he ever want to be here?" She snarled. He- being new- was also ignored. Rose ignored her mother, too, always going to the 'forbidden' beach and sitting there allowing her toes to get washed by the warm waves. She had grown taller and thinner, because she refused to eat what her mother called 'food'. Her thoughts had begun to confuse her as she thought with a boiling temper. "I didn't know there was a beach here.. Other than the main." Said a sort of low voice. Rose didn't look up until she heard a plunk and she looked over, a boy with blond hair sat there looking at her. He had eyes the color of aquamarine. "Name's Matthew." He said, putting out a hand. Reluctantly Rose put out her hand "Rose j- Just Rose." Rose said, looking into the clear blue waters. "Oh I'm sorry... Matthew Danger.." Matt said "But my parents call me Matt." It was like love at first sight.
Chapter 6: The sand - Spoiler:
"Why'd you move here?" Rose asked, they both lied on the sun warmed sand. "Pirates..." Matthew muttered. "What?" Rose asked again, putting her hair back. "Pirates.. stole some things from my father.. so we moved here in hope of not being ransacked again.. right now it's been working." He said quietly, gripping something in his hand. Rose sighed and sat up, "I was born here.. I dont know where my real father is, I have a stepfather, an awful mother-" Matthew interrupted her with a sharp piercing glare. "What?" Rose spat. "She had you, didn't she?" He mused, placing his finger in the sand and making squiggles. Rose sighed "I guess but..." "She's awful because?" "Because she hurts me, doesn't cook correctly, she's been basically a bad mother. And she married another, hoping that I could have a father" "Oh." "What about your mother and father?" "Well, both are still together. For one thing.." "And?" "I have no siblings." "Me neither... Well not at this moment." Rose sighed. "Huh?" "My mother's gonna give birth to another." "Oh. That must sxck." "Sure. I mean, it does, and I'm mad at her. But wanna know something crazy?" "Sure." "I want to be a pirate, even though people aren't fans of them, I find that sailing the seven seas would be terrific, with enemies on other ships, allies, man.. I could even meet my father if i tried." "Really?" "Yep." Rose rolled onto her stomach. "Would it be crazy if i said I wanted to sail the seven seas, too?" "That would be awesome! We could sail together!" "Sure." "I mean after all, we are teenagers, almost adults. But if we sailed now-" He kissed her. "You talk too much." He whispered with a faint smile, before getting up and walking away. Rose was blushing and seeing the squiggles together, it was a heart..
Chapter 7: Ships. - Spoiler:
Rose lied down the blue prints for a boat the paper crinkled with protest. "Since your father's good with buying things and adding on maybe he could help build us a ship from an old ship." Rose discussed with Matthew. Matthew put his finger to one part of the ship. "That needs to be thicker in order to hold more weight.." Rose rolled her eyes "I'm not the best at this kind of stuff. Anyways, this is just a sketch." "It's a pretty good sketch, I'll admit that." "Thanks.. Look... About yesterday..." "I know, that kiss was uncalled for." "No, no, no.. I just can't get my mind off of it. Maybe we should talk about it....?" Matthew smiled "Or we can just treasure it. You know, it's a first kiss for both of us." Rose blushed "Umm.. Yea.." Matthew laughed and cleared his throat, rolling up the paper. "I'll be back. We can build it on the main beach, since I doubt this small cove could be revealed to anyone else." Rose's eyes sparkled with admiration "Of course." Matthew strolled up the small pathway, until his hair couldn't be seen flowing. Rose sighed, her heart fluttering.
Chapter 8: Sparks - Spoiler:
"Okay.. Great ship..." Rose said, looking at the ship that was docked. Matthew's father was nice, and very helpful. Also quiet. The opposite of Tyler. Complete opposite. Matthew smiled as he looked at her expression. Rose grinned "What?" Matthew kept his friendly grin imprinted on his face. "Nothing. I just thought you've seen ships like this before." Rose looked down at the ground, on the inside her heart was doing flips. "Surprisingly... no." She whispered, but looked back up. Matthew didn't mock her, but just nodded to his father. "Thank you." His father smiled and walked away. Rose looked at Matthew, her eyes glittered. "So when do we go aboard?" Matthew suddenly looked into her eyes deeply, like he was trying to tell her something his lips refused to utter. Rose was in a small trance, his eyes seemed so confident. They got closer to each other, both with a mischievous smile. "Rose!" cried a dreadfully too familiar voice. Rose looked over, only a small movement away from his lips, they only brushed her hair. "Mother..." Rose muttered, looking confused. "Oh your father and I have met the MOST clever boy ever!" She said, grasping Rose's wrist briskly as though she was still a toddler. "You mean Step-father." Rose muttered darkly, looking at the bump that had begun to swell on her mother. She looked back at Matthew, he looked hurt, but she saw something else deeper, something like desperation and jealousy.
Chapter 9: He Who's Name Brings Annoyance - Spoiler:
Her mother came into the living room of their house, kissing her husband and he looked at her. "Rose, this is Tristin." He said, stepping out of the way was a boy with his hands behind his back and short clean brown hair. His eyes where a dark hazel color and his clothing was almost Navyish. Rose didn't smile at him as he smiled at her. "Tristin, this is Rose." her mother said, looking excited. Rose kept her hands at her side. "Rose, say hello." Her step-father growled. Rose looked at him with anger smoldering in her blue eyes. Tristin stepped up, taking her clenched fist and kissing it. It felt cold and dead, unlike Matthew... She pulled her hand away quickly. In her mind she was thinking bad things about this... future navy officer. It was obvious. "Honey, he's going to be in the EITC... or was it Port Royal's navy..." Her mother muttered. Tristin smiled looking proud. "EITC. They've been watching my progress for some time now. It won't be long." Rose smirked "I'm going to be a pirate. Better start hating me. Now, if you'll excuse me." She said, pushing past him back to the door, back to Matthew, back to where they left off.
Chapter 10: They Won't Give Up - Spoiler:
"Matthew?" Rose said, she saw him in the sand, laying down, looking up at the clouds. She laid down next to him. "He's gonna be part of the EITC when he grows up.." Rose said, Matthew looked at her. "You don't think..." They both looked up, seeing Tristin, Her Mother, and her step-father. "Who's this?" Tyler snarled. "This is Matthew." Rose growled back at him. Tyler glared at Matthew. "Come here at once." "No." Rose said, clenching her teeth. "And why NOT?" Tyler asked. "Because, You're not my father." Rose stated. Her mother sighed, and waddled away. Tyler stood there fuming, Tristin only looked at the horizon, deep in thought. Rose got up, brushing sand off her pants, she pulled Matthew up and walked over to the ship, setting foot on the boardwalk. "We're leaving." Rose huffed, "What about the crew?" Matthew asked. Rose paused for a brief moment, and then she walked until she was on deck. "I'll explain later."
-brief note: This chapter is short, yes, i know.- Chapter 11: Landing - Spoiler:
Rose snorted at her 'parents' and that... thing.. Who would be proud to be considered for the EITC? Rose thought bitterly. Her eyes scanned the blue waters and then she looked at Matthew, who was preparing the ship, his eyes completely focused on the task he was doing. Rose grinned, and walked over, "Ready to set sail?" She asked. Matthew nodded "Yup." She stuck her tongue out at Tyler, her mother, and Tristin. "Good-bye, forever." She whispered. "Where to go?" Matthew wondered. Rose looked at him "Far away from here as possible." She said, mischievously. The sun had began to set already, but the two didn't seem to mind, they where to focused on a few things. First thing: A crew. They docked over at a place not that familiar, in fact it seemed intimidating. People went down the roads, laughing and skipping merrily, bottles in hand. "What is this place.. it looks somehow familiar." Rose whispered, and before Matthew could respond, she ran down to the land, the unfamiliar sand crunched underneath her boots, and made her feel woozy, she was used to the rocking motion of a ship.
Chapter 12: The Wonders of Tortuga - Spoiler:
The two came in cautiously, Rose kept her hand in a fist. Seeing that she had no guns and or swords. She felt a little defenseless, Matthew looked down the street, pulling back. "What?" Rose muttered, stopping. Three men walked up the street, laughing and hitting each other. "Oy!" The one in the middle, had his arms slung around his two buddies. "Who- are- you?" He said, his eyes unfocused and his words slurred together. Rose flinched a bit, looking around, where had Matthew gone off to...? She looked at the man again and grimaced. "None of your business. Now buzz off." She snarled, trying to act tough. The three looked at each other, one uttered something, they all laughed, and began to sway forwards, tripping on their own feet. She frowned and went the opposite way. He could of went farther in this town, knowing how adventurous he was. She walked past a bar or something with music and the sounds of shouting, swords, and one was thrown against the window, sliding down. She flinched and thought maybe he could of been in there. She opened up the door, staggering because of the overpowering smell of.. B.O.. She looked around and sighed, he wasn't here. She turned around and just as she was a hand caught her wrist. Her hands clenched into fists as she turned around, there was another laughing man. She grimaced. "Let go of me." She hissed, pulling her wrist away, the man's hand went to a sword, she ducked as it went for her head. Her heart began to beat as she realized that he wanted her dead. She kicked him in the shin, the closet thing to her, before she got up, taking a sword that was lying on the floor as if someone had thrown it carelessly away. She leaped up on the table as the man went again for her. She put the sword between her and her neck. Her muscles where tensed, pushing against the strength of the other sword. She grunted, leaping off the table and kicking it over, knocking him over with it. She was breathing hard, and looked at the sword she had picked up. It wasn't as bad as she had thought... She slipped it so she could reach it easily, realizing now that these where hostile streets. VERY hostile streets.
Chapter 13: Future Attack - Spoiler:
Rose walked down the street, trying to hide in the shadows so no one could spot her, she hurt from landing wrong on her ankle from her fight with the man. She kept her eyes straight forward, eyes intent on the comfort of her ship, just then a blond girl came stumbling from no where, she was laughing and got up, looking over with hazel eyes, they widened. "Whoops.. Sorry.." The girl said, a small spurt of giggles came from her again. Rose frowned, /She's not drxxk, is she?/ her brain thought, and she shrugged "It's okay..." She said, and continued to walk. The girl walked after her. "Hey, you look really mad." She said, Rose turned around, and frowned as the girl tugged at her white shirt with a leather belt around her black pants tucked into her boots. Her shirt fluttered in the sudden breeze. "I'm not mad." Rose mumbled, and she sighed before turning around and continuing to walk. "Okay, how about depressed?" The girl asked. Rose clenched her fists, and turned around again. "NOT depressed either." She snapped, her frown deepening. "Okayyy." The girl chirped, and skipped after Rose. "Look, can I help you?" Rose growled, The girl nodded. "Yup." She looked around and hummed as Rose grimaced at her. "With...?" "Oh! Sorry! Erm, I noticed you get off the ship you own there with another and I was curious if you had a crew.. I mean..." The girl tugged again at her shirt and Rose sighed. "We don't have a crew. Just me and him." She muttered. The girl looked delighted "Oh! Can I tag along? You won't notice me, not at all.." She chirped. Rose rolled her eyes "Sure." She said, and continued to walk. "Future." The girl said. Rose looked at her, "Pardon?" She asked. "My name is Future." The girl repeated. "Alright. I'm Rose." She said, turning around. Future ran after her, noticing how she was lagging. "Who are you looking for?" She asked. Rose sighed "The other that got off with me.." She mumbled. Future nodded "He went back on your ship. He didn't sail or anything.." She ventured. "Alright." Rose said, and the two starting friends continued to the ship, finding Matthew asleep on the deck.
Chapter 14:The Final Crew - Spoiler:
Rose kicked Matthew's shoulder, he grumbled and sat up, holding his head. "A bit too much to drink, Matthew?" Rose sighed, and looked at the sky that had begin to turn pink in the dawn. She turned her attention to Future, who was looking at a few of the ropes and tracing them to where they lead with her finger. "Don't touch.. that..." Rose sighed as Future had tugged a wrong rope, and the mast swerved, nearly smacking Rose. "Alright, why don't you just observe?" Rose said, her heart's maddening beat hurt her ears. Future was snickering. "What's so funny?" Snapped Rose, Matthew moaned and fell on his back, "Stop the world, please, Rose." Matthew moaned. Rose wanted to laugh at the stupidity written on his face, but she decided not to. "I know how to steer." Future offered. Rose felt her lungs let out a gust of wind in a sigh of relief. "Good." She mumbled. "Where to?" The blond asked. Rose looked cautiously at the two people. "Crew first." She mumbled, and set foot back on the sand. She walked over to the nearest bar, desperate pirates would for sure sail with a soon-to-be well known pirate. She came in, and as she did, it got silent. "I'm looking for a crew." She said loudly. The people began to snort and only a few younger looking boys looked over. "I'm not kidding!" She yelled. Frustration burned as no one came over, but a group of four boys did. "Eagle." The tall and lanky boy introduced himself, he had shaggy light brown hair, tanned skin, and dark brown eyes. "Lance." The second boy said, he was slightly more muscular with short brown hair, tanned skin, and taunting hazel eyes. "Vince." The bleach blond boy muttered, his piercing blue eyes made Rose uncomfortable, and he was tall and a bit intimidating. "Hawk. I'm Eagle's brother." The short and most muscular boy said, he stood next to Eagle, but he had black hair and cinnamon brown eyes. "Alright.. You all are skilled in sword fighting and what not, correct?" Rose asked, Vince rolled his eyes "Of course we are. We're not toddlers." He snapped. Rose glared at him with the same frustration crackling in her firey blue eyes. "I can see that. But if you can kindly shut your trap and listen." She snarled at him, Vince just rolled his eyes-- again. "I am Rose. But you will refer to me as Captain Rose, or just captain. We have two others on deck and--" Lance was apparently very close with Vince, as they shared the same personality. "A girl captain?" He snorted. Rose put one hand on her hip "Is that some kind of challenge?" She threatened. Lance took one step back, and Vince grinned "Sure." He said. Rose smiled, and walked out the door, the four boys following eagerly.
Chapter 15: Flying Sand - Spoiler:
Rose stopped in the sand and whipped around, sword in hand. "You did challenge me, correct?" She said, acid boiling in her voice as she directed it to Vince. Vince smiled "Yes. Rose." He said, taking out his sword slowly, the three other boys stepped a few paces back. Rose and Vince walked in a circle, each watching each other carefully. Rose faked him out, stepping into the circle, and quickly taking the step back as Vince prepared himself. And as he dropped his guard, Rose struck. She lunged forward, his sword thankfully catching the blade. Alarmed Vince blindly flailed his sword, and only made the sand fly in the air, Rose snorted and again lunged, striking his leg, a small scratch had formed. Vince glared at her and he stumbled a bit, only getting his balance back, he dug his heels in the sand, and wheeled to her, eyes ablaze with battle. He had his sword raised in the air. "Typical." Rose breathed, stepping out of the way, Vince caught nothing with his sword, but he turned and nearly got Rose. Rose shook her head "Shame, Vince, I had more faith in you than you than this pathetic excuse for sword skill." She said, making a tsking sound. Vince grimaced "Big talk for small action." He sneered, Rose rolled her eyes, whipping out the sword to his face, the tip of the blade catching his cheek and sliding to his nose, his blade caught it before it #### all the way across his face. "Too caught up?" She smirked, the swords make clanging sounds declaring a fight, Rose kicked sand up, getting it in Vince's cut, yelping out he swung viciously to her shoulder, off guard it got her, a clanging sounded, ringing through the ears, she had got cut with the same amount of damage as his cheek. Blood dribbled down from his cut, reaching to the corners of his mouth. Both stood there, heavilly breathing. The previous scuff on his leg made it tremble, she pushed him down, leaving him gasping for breath in the sand. "Convinced?" She hissed, eyes lit with victory. Matthew stumbled out. "The-the shhhhiip is ready to go." He mumbled, still loopy from his little drinking spree. The boys looked stunned at how she had handled him. "He beat all of us fighting." Eagle mumbled, "Good. Now. Onto the Poison Thorn we go." She announced, Lance helped Vince up, both looking frustrated. ^Finished Chapter 16: The Mysterious Ship - Spoiler:
"Cap'n, ship spotted ahead!" Called Eagle, in a much deeper voice. Rose looked over, Sailing the Poison Thorn was good, until it was sunk. She regathered her crew and a few more, and a bigger ship. She frowned and went to where the ship was. She squinted. "Dxmx. She hissed, throwing her sword into her hand, other hand wrapped around the but+ of her gxn. She scowled "Get the cannons ready. I have a bad feeling about this ship." Matthew came up, taller and more muscular and tan, his eyes narrowed. Both had noticed the black sails. "Is that it, the Pearl?" Future asked in admiration, she still had her oddly comforting silly side. Vince stepped to the other side of Rose. "It is." He mumbled to Future. She sighed. "Is it still Barbossa?" The cabin boy wondered aloud. "Heck no. He got marooned. It's either Sparrow's daughter, or Barbossa's nephew." She growled, clutching her fists. The Black Pearl had noticed them, for sure. It had been turning to face them. She scowled as their ship, The Riot, so that she could see them closer. Both crews where yelling at each other, "Hold fire!" Called Rose, the voice was repeated on the ship. She scowled, seeing a girl. "Sparrow's daughter." Toxic shattered her calm and smooth voice. Matthew sneered, "Good thing it isn't night." He whispered into her ear. Her eye had caught on a boy following Sparrow's daughter. "And why's that, Matthew?" She calmly whispered. Matthew didn't respond. It got oddly quiet. She opened her mouth, and screamed "FIRE." the words where echoed on the Pearl, the ship lurched in the attack, "Matthew. Get your sword out." Her eyes focused on the pirates getting up ropes with ease, and as they swung forward. She kicked one off, eyes narrowed. "Not on my ship." She snarled, eyes reflecting some kind of fear and anger. She looked over, seeing Future running away from a pirate, screaming. Rose turned, lunging towards the pirate. His blade caught hers, Future smiled "Thanks Rose." She whispered. Rose was nearly wrestling with it as they got closer and closer to the end, nearly stumbling Rose threw her blade up into the pirate, he laughed at Rose's shocked expression. "What's the matter, afraid?" He sneered, heart racing she pushed him back and pulled her sword out. She ended up back to back with Matthew, he glanced over his shoulder "They're more creepy in the moonlight." He whispered. She scowled, and the ship lurched as a cannon went into the ship. The ship moaned and groaned, the pirates from the Pearl all returned to their ship, watching with enjoyment. She scowled "Abandon ship." She said calmly to her crew. All of them looked surprised. Frustrated she turned, "Abandon ship, what part of that don't you understand?" She nearly roared. They turned, Matthew watched them board, Future looked confused. "Captain Rose, what about you?" Her friend asked. "A good captain goes down with his-her, ship." Rose rasped. She put her hands behind her back. Future was ushered into the rowboats. "Matthew. Go." Rose said bitterly, eyes closed. Matthew took a few steps towards the rowboat, and whipped around, picking Rose up. "You'll be the a bad captain, then. I won't let you die." He whispered. She squirmed "Let go of me." She shouted, kicking. "Nope." Matthew said, putting her down. "Lets get off this ship." He said calmly.
Chapter 17: Rescued by the wrong person. - Spoiler:
Rose glanced down to his hand wrapped tightly around her wrist, almost as though he was nervous. He scooped her up, placing her in the last boat and hopping in. He smirked as she put her head against his shoulder, feeling the sea's mist. "Dxmn Black Pearl." She cursed, clamping her eyes shut. She took in a nervous breath as she watched her ship bubble under. "There it-" A ship broke up against them, sending her flying across above her sunken ship, grasping desperately to a board, taking in shaky breaths. This was how she planned on dying. She closed her eyes, putting her body on top of the board and closing her eyes, thinking of everything. She woke up hearing the distinctive sounds of laughing and the roar of the sea. However it seemed like it had been immersed in sea water for a long time, leaving barnacles and dripping water. She groaned at the pain in her abdomen as she heard the uneven footsteps with a suggestion of a limp. She looked up and screamed, falling off of the desk and squirming into a wall, his face dripped with tentacles, left hand a crab's claw, right fingers of tentacles and a peg leg. She began to choke on her own air as he was laughing. "Rose Jones in the flesh. My eyes don't deceive me." He said, she chewed on her lower lip then smiled "Squid-face, not so great seeing your face." He scowled and sighed, "I hoped this would of been a lovely uncle-niece moment." He said, with a roll of his eyes "I'm no niece of yours, as you are no uncle of mine." She said in a higher tone. He scowled, reaching forward with his crab's claw so it clamped around her neck. She gasped, squirming and attempting to get air. "L-let go of me." She wheezed. He smiled "Gladly." And flung her into a wall, she was trying to get her blurry vision back in order as he stalked forwards. "Y-your pretty quick for a man with one artificial leg." She gasped, he grabbed her face with his hand tentacles and tossed her out on deck, bringing the overwhelming stench of fish and mist. She screamed as she was revealed to hideous faces, one joining next to Davy Jones with a head of a hammerhead. His mocking laughter faded. "I want you away from the sea. Whether it be on ship, swimming, or even walking near it. You touch the sea, we'll find you." Jones snarled, Rose backed up into the leg of a man with a wheel dug into his back and out of his chest. She looked at the living Devil as he pulled out his pistol, and shot her in the gut. She gasped, lurching forwards so she was on the ground, shins on the ground, arms around stomach, eyes wide. "It burns..." She gagged, he smiled and laughed as she fell to her side, gasping. "But the sad thing is, Rose, you don't die." Davy Jones grumbled. "Your father was attracted to treasure, so he being naturally tempted he touched the gold, reeled back, and you and him have the dxmn curse. His dxmn offspring has a curse. I can't kill you!" He bellowed, obviously frustrated. The shark took a breath in "But she can feel it." Her uncle glanced over and let out a delighted laugh. "Brilliant, Maccus!" He exclaimed, before turning back to Rose with a twisted grin. She got to her shaky feet once again and pointed at him. "Y-you don't scare me." She stammered before running and diving into the sea, though she was terrified. She waited for the ship to go away before she could really pop up. She clung to a board, now troubled and did the same ritual of curling up on it, pulling her red coat over her to give her some warmth, and hoping she would die, and this was a dream.

| Chapter 18- The Black Pearl (Now in my POV) - Spoiler:
My dreams where nothing but nightmares, the cold lapping waves seemed to want to drag me in with every wave. To be honest, I'm surprised that no shark had come for myself. Or maybe one did and I'm still dreaming on my way to perhaps Hell. Hmph, nice dream. I suddenly felt the arms of another being, pulling me from the waves. I let out a little bit of a moan before rolling over and drifting back off into sleep, the same scene playing over and over- Jones' claw grasping my neck, choking her, the horrifying faces, the pain in her stomach, all too surreal to be rescued. Who would want to? I pulled up instantly, muscles aching at the sudden warmth. I gasped as there was a man, sitting there with a coin in his hand, smiling. Blankets, a ship that wasn't mine, I couldn't help but instantly blurt out "Where am I?!" Eyes wide, heart racing. What if this was the lower deck of the Dutchman, what if they found me and were planning on making my tortured for life. I winced at the thought before he answered almost to me a bit too slowly, "Not to worry, miss. Ye are on board the Black Pearl. Ye were out floatin' in the water, unconscious." He said calmly. I narrowed my eyes, damn, the Black Pearl. He lifted his hand up to me, offering one of the blankets I kicked off. I backed up against the wall, this seemed familiar. My mind raced with the repeating thought /Land, Rose. Land, Rose. Land, Rose./ Over and over again. I felt my way down to my belt, containing my gun. "I-I need to get to land." I said, feeling like I repeated it. Though I knew very well that I didn't, and it was just my mind. "All in good time, lass. We will reach port by morning." He said, shrugging. My lower lip trembled, not enough time. "You do not understand, he'll get me. You wait, and we'll be gone." I said, shaking. He stared at me like I had too much rum, rum... That sounded good right about now. He smiled a bit. "Who is?" He questioned, was everyone on this sea curious? Sudden frustration flamed through me, sending waves of anger to my brain. "There is NO time to explain this. Get me to land /now/." I shouted. He stared at me in disbelief. "Then swim, we're in open water if you didn't notice." He said simply. There was no way I was gonna do that. If I did, I would die. The kraken.. Oh good Lord above, the demon sent out by the Devil. "Get me to land, Now." Because of my body shaking, my voice shook along with it. My hand somehow was at my pistol, tugging it up and aiming, perfect. Only he'd know. He stood there, almost like he was covered in water and it froze instantly. He smiled. "Or what? You'll shoot? Hmph. That won't change anything, love." My heart began to ache for Matthew, I couldn't help it, my eyes teared up. "I'll do it, by God I'll do it." I threatened. He didn't seem phased. "Then do it." He said, nearly laughing. Reverse psychology? Please. I pulled the trigger, expecting the loud boom and him to drop dead, blood spreading across the floor. Then I'll just go and swim, I'll get on another ship. I'll be a curse, that's it. The Woman From the Water. Noooo... I began to instantly curse about how stupid this was, wet powder? Worse thing to do with a man I don't even know. He couldn't kill me then he'll know. I heard the click of another gun, one pointed at me. I bet HE didn't have wet powder. "How ‘bout you calm down, lass. I'm not a violent person when it comes to ladies, but if I'm tempted." Damn. He was good. I lost, I knew it. I huffed and pouted, crossing my arms and plopping on top of the barrel, pulling at a free string of my red coat. He sat back down and kicked back. "What's your name?" He asked, Like I would introduce myself normally, right? "Rose, Rose J---" I paused, shoot. Almost blew it. "Rose. Just Rose. And you are...?" I asked. "Captain Hector McSkull. Captain of the Jolly Roger and Self Proclaimed Pirate Lord of Neverland. It’ll be a real title once we sort it out with the Brethren Court…" I bet he was good at making others laugh. That was a child's tale. Told in nurseries, Neverland? I found myself laughing. He looked absolutely serious. "And what's so funny?" He grumbled. "Neverland? What the Devil is that? It's just a fairy's tale!" I said, almost keeling over. It felt good to laugh. "Ever heard of a man named Captain Hook?" I shook my head, still laughing. "Perhaps Black Stache?" He sighed. Oh, a real hoot and holler. "Isn't he the-" I was nearly dying of laughter "bloke who had his hand cut off by a child?" I said, laughter dying down as he pulled out something, it was shiney. I basically tuned him out, my father's gold obsession was obviously genetic. He continued by his stories, I listened intently, but I was slightly afraid to tell him the truth.
I couldn't tell him, I need to keep this hidden.
Chapter 19: Other Immortals - Spoiler:
Ever since I got to the Pearl, things started getting weird. I basically wasn’t allowed anywhere near the deck at night. So I lay awake in the cabin I was so kindly given. Probably just to keep watch over me. My eyes snapped open. It was a bit too odd. I sat up, eyes glancing over to the door. I was tempted, but I’d probably get basically slammed back into my room. Matthew warned me about this, but I’m not sure why, it wasn’t like they were immortal. If they where I wouldn’t believe, because I probably missed when I tried to drive my sword through that pirate. Tch. Immortal? Lier. My eyes where begging me to go to sleep, I tried to resist but my muscles got tired from holding me up, so I lied back down, blinking, but when I closed my eyes, they were stuck. I slept for a while, until a knock sounded on my door. I sat up, buttoning up my shirt again and pulling on my jacket and tying up my boots. I gave my hair a comb with my fingers, it was as hot as hell in here. I opened the door, Mr. McSkull stood there leaning against the frame, “Um, yes? What do you want…?” I asked. He smiled. “You can call me Captain or Hector.” He said, and looked back. “Listen. We’re going to a… Get together… And we were wondering if ye’d like to go. There’s already two to guard the boat. So, it’s your decision.” He said. I smiled. “I’d like to come.” I said with a curious spark in my eyes. We reached the helm of the boat as his uncle, Barbossa, placed the medallion around the girl, Elizabeth Turner’s, neck. She was shaking like a leaf, though it was obvious she was trying to look not afraid. We got into the longboats and rowed over to a cave, where the pirates chattered excitedly. Throughout the process Hector tried to explain what was happening, though he was hiding something. The crew dumped treasure all over the cave, I was tempted to pick it up and take it with me, but then they might get rowdy. I didn’t want to face them alone… Without any help. I glanced over, and briskly walked over to Hector, sitting next to him. I couldn’t help but smile as I watched an odd little monkey playing with Hector’s arms and head. “What is that thing?” I said with an amused smile. He looked over and smiled. “This here is Jack, he’s named after the first cap’n or somethin’ along those lines. I don’t know. Anyways, he’s me uncle’s pet.” Hector answered, as he said Jack the monkey bounced on his arm and slapped his cheek softly before skirting over to Barbossa to go on his shoulder, Elizabeth stared at it in hate. I scooted to the edge of my seat, deeply interested. “Gents! The time has come!” Shouted his uncle, the crew hooted and yelled. He began to shout and yell about something, I was too busy studying the cave. It was so big, and shining with treasure. My eyes caught two heads ducked low with rocks covering them. They slipped out of sight, I put my hand on my pistol, relieved to also know I had a sword if my gun powder was still somehow wet, Hector doing the same thing. I winced slightly, seeing Elizabeth’s hand slit open, coating the medallion in a layer of blood, a few drops slipping off and dripping into the other coins. Barbossa forced her hand open and she gasped, a dull thud sounded and I was distracted. I glanced back as the crew had their eyes, Barbossa included, closed, palms facing up, as though they were expecting something. Slowly they opened their eyes, looking around, frowning “Well, did it work?” Demanded a skinny black man with a Jamaican accent. Koehler I believe his name was. “I don’t feel no different.” A lean man with one glassy eye, Ragetti, mumbled. “How exactly do we tell?” A short fat man with a bald spot, Ragetti’s partner in crime, Pintel, asked. Barbossa rolled his eyes, took out his pistol, it clicked gleefully before a bullet ran through Pintel in the heart. Instead of falling down dead, he stood, looking down at his heart, shocked. “You’re not dead!” Koehler yelled, looking angry. “No! ‘E shot me!” Exclaimed Pintel. The pirates began to turn on each other, arguing, cursing, and pointing fingers. My mouth dropped open and I stared at Hector, astonished. “How is he not dead?!” I gasped. Hector looked down at the treasure coated floor. “They’re cursed…” He sighed, “It’s a long story, I’ll have to share with you later about it.” He looked embarrassed almost. “But right now-“ His pistol clicked “-lets find out who the party crashers are.” Before leaping up. I jumped up, following after him. I wasn’t going to be left behind. We crouched beside a rock, both glancing over opposite ends. Elizabeth and an odd man, the man in the water, where staring at each other, each holding faces and whispering. She showed him a medallion, I gritted my teeth. He sighed before saying something else before guiding her in the water, swimming off. Hector growled and followed them into the shadows, startled I followed after. I heard the rattle of coins escape the deadly quiet air, I stared at Hector, he looked frustrated as they swam off, I shot at the water. They had oars with them. He ran to the shore, shooting. The crew was now in a frenzy, looking for Elizabeth, a missing medallion, and oars. I knew where they went. But as they were searching, they found a man with dreadlocks, a beard, and a mischievous aura about him. I heard Hector utter ‘If it isn’t Jack Sparrow’. “You…” Ragetti sneered. His friend added in “You’re supposed to be dead!” yelled Pintel. Jack stared at them blankly. “Am I not?” Jack asked, confused, before turning and smiling, facing Hector’s pistol, daggers, and swords. He turned back around, I sneered and aimed my own gun at his face, along with the other half of the crew’s daggers and swords included. I smiled. He’s trapped. He smiled back at me in the ‘Oh how annoying’ way. “Paluray…Palu-li-la-lulu, parlili…. parsnip, paisley, par- partner?” Jack slurred, he must be drunk. “Parlay?” Ragetti offered. Jack clapped and pointed at Ragetti. “At’s the one! Parlay! Parlay!” Jack said happily. “Parlay? Down to the depths whatever man that thought up ‘parlay!’” Pintel growled. Jack put his finger in the barrel of Pintel’s barrel gun lowering it, and flashing him a dirty smile. “That would be the French. Latin based, of course, inventors of mayonnaise.” Jack corrected Pintel. “I like mayonnaise.” Smiled Pintel. “Shame about the French, though. Obsessed with raisins. Humiliated grapes, really. Think about it.” Jack said, gesturing his hands to emphasize his thoughts. “Hmm. Don’t know.” Pintel said with a confused look and shrug. I snorted and shifted weight to my other foot, clicking my pistol. “Terrific singers, the French,” Jack continued nervously “Whoop! Eunuchs, all of ‘em.” “That’s not right…” A crew member, Grapple, snorted. “I used to date a eunuch.” Pintel sighed, in a dazed look. We backed up. “That’s nasty.” I grumbled. “I’ll get me coat.” Jack said gleefully.
“So… You’re Jack Sparrow, eh?” Hector said, looking at him suspiciously. I joined them, not trusting the others. “Captain. Captain Jack Sparrow.” Jack growled, annoyed. “Boy, yer brother was right.” Hector said with a sigh. Jack’s eyes widened. “You knew my brother” He asked, astounded. Hector brought up that when he was talking about his life. “Sure do, sailed with him for eight years. Good kid.” Hector said, walking away. “Get to know him better, mate… And who’re you?” Jack asked. “Rose. Jus’ that.” I said, he stared at me. “Didn’t Squid Face have a nie-” I put my hand over his mouth, I felt him smile underneath it. “Shut up. I’ll say it when I’m ready.” I threatened, pointing my dagger at his throat. He put his hands up. “Sorry, love.” He said underneath my hand. “You say anything? You’ll die.” I growled. He nodded. “How can I not trust you?” I whispered. Jack pulled my hand away. “Imma pirate, love. You can’t always trust us. But… For now..” He took my free hand and kissed it. “Your secrets safe with me.” I pulled my hand out of his, and smacked him across the face. He smirked. “You liked it. I can tell. Tell me when you need ol’ Jackie.” He said with a smile and wink. I snorted, stalking away next to Hector. He gave me a confused look. “Jack’s a pig.” I grumbled, crossing my arms. Jack drunkenly walked to the center, one oar in his hand and leaned on it. Barbossa pushed through the crew, glaring at Jack. “How the blazes did you get off that island?” Barbossa spat. We all glanced over to Jack, except I, who was already glaring at him in anger. “When you marooned me on that Godforsaken spit of land-“ I felt his pain, but I was still disgusted in him. “-you forgot one excruciatingly important thing mate…” He stared at us all, looking at us expectantly. “I-I’m Captain Jack Sparrow.” He nearly whined, looking offended. “Ah, well, I won’t be making that mistake again.” Barbossa promised jack before whipping around. “Gents, you all remember Jack Sparrow? Kill ‘em.” Barbossa laughed. We all laughed, me included, and loaded our pistols, a simultaneous click as we pointed our pistols at Jack. Jack looked frustrated mumbling ‘Captain.’ Before shouting “Wait!” He said, we all paused. “The girl’s blood didn’ work, did it, Barbossa?” Barbossa froze in his tracks. “Hold yer fire!” He yelled, turning around. We all lowered our pistols, reluctantly, as Barbossa shuffled over to Jack. “You know whose blood we need?” Barbossa eagerly asked. Jack smiled and nodded. “I know whose blood ye need.” He said with the giant dirty smile.

| Chapter 20: Answers - Spoiler:
As we where on the rowboats my rage was building, I knew exactly how I would confront Hector, head on. I had questions, he had answers. As we got to his cabin I turned on him. "Alright Hector, I want answers." I hissed, glaring at him. He sat down calmly on my bed, how could he just sit there calmly after all that... crap that just happened? Did I hit the rum too hard? I began to pace as he stared at me admirably. He shrugged. "As I said, Rose, we've all got skeletons in our closets, mine are just walking on the decks." He chuckled. I gave him my 'Go-die' look and he stopped, looking down at my tapping foot. “The chest that you saw back in the cave is of Aztec origins. Cortes himself, when he conquered the Aztecs, was delivered a stone chest of that same nature. It was blood money paid to stem the slaughter that was wreaked upon his armies. And so, with that in mind, the Heathen Gods placed upon the gold a terrible curse. If one was to take just a single piece of the gold, they’d be punished for all eternity.” He said simply, with a sly smile. Was he kidding? "As the dead?!" I sneered. "Ah.. They're not dead, but they're not alive. They're undead." Just like me.. But in the simple case I'm positive I could still die. I turned, facing the wall as he continued. "Rose, there's nothing to fear. I ain't one of them." He said, patting his chest as I glanced over my shoulder. I opened my mouth to protest but a heavy knock thudded on the door. "Enter!" Hector shouted, a large black man entered with dots above his eyebrows. Bo' Sun I think his name was... My mouth made an audible click as I closed it. He tromped in. "Cap'n, we're comin' up on th' Interceptor. Yer uncle wishes ye at the helm." He said before bowing out. I sighed and rolled my eyes, gesturing to the door for Hector. I came out, not daring stay in there. He had his hat on and stood next to his uncle, they looked so alike, but Hector so much younger. I fought back a smile. I'm supposed to not be believing him. Jack somehow melted right next to me. "I see that look." He said, nudging me. He smelled like rum, I glanced at him and looked down at my boots, he chuckled and staggered away. The ship was blown up, but Hector had a different approach to him, he had brown hair in a small ponytail and fairly tall. I scowled, who was this bloke? Another famous kid I've never heard of? Hector seemed all together surprised, I decided to stay away from it, too much man emotion.
Chapter 21- A turn around. - Spoiler:
The time seemed to melt together, I've been on a ship that has made me feel at home, I've forgotten about the past now. Just fighting the occasional battle, killing a few men here an' there, stopping at Tortuga for a while, having a jolly ol' time basically. Barbossa left Jack and the lass Elizabeth behind, marooned on an island, the man who I've come to known as Will barely looked over at Hector, when they did lock eyes both glanced down nervously, looking ashamed. Whatever their issue was, I'm staying out of it. We where back at the same cave filled with treasure and valuables. Barbossa began his speech yet again, bringing the knife to Will's neck, I'm still confused as to why he has to kill the man in order to loose the curse, sometimes curses are the best things. At least I've kept mine a secret. Out of the crowd Jack saved Will's life. Barbossa and Jack bartered over one thing or another, I couldn't tell if they where friends or enemies. He sent the crew off to a walk to I believe to be no where in particular while Barbossa, Hector, three others, and I stood guard at the cave. I was bored out of my pirate mind. At least it was interested slightly by the always drunk Jack. “I must admit, Jack. I thought I had ye figured out. Turns out yer a hard man to figure.” Barbossa admitted to Jack. "Me? I’m dishonest. And a dishonest man can always be trusted to be dishonest. Honestly! It’s the honest one’s you have to watch out for. Cause you can never predict, when they’re goin’ to do somethin’ incredibly… stupid" He eyed Will, and turned, kicking one of the men into the water, taking his sword and tossing it to Will who began to cut open the ropes that bound him together. I couldn't help but applaud Jack in my mind as he and Barbossa engaged in an epic duel. The rest dueled on the Dauntless, I took a step back, sneering. This could lead me in something I didn't want. I clutched my fist around my sword, unsure of what to do. I watched Hector help Will, I leaned back a bit, rising my eyebrow. So he switched sides? He whispered something, and both went back to back, fighting off the pirates. I pulled one leg up to the wall, tilting my head to the side. One pirate fell against the wall next to me. I rolled my eyes and pushed him into the wall, making his head hit the floor, he went limp. I reached for a sword, daring any other pirate. I noticed another female figure yell at another pirate. "You like pain? Try wearin' a corset!" After knocking out a pirate. We could be good friends. She and I... I watched for a bit, waiting for a spot to jump in. I smirked and leaned down, picking up the waking pirate from his unconsciousness. "You want to live after the curse is lifted?" I whispered, kneeling. He nodded eagerly, I smiled and laughed. "Good, I would too. Listen, leave the pirates behind. They don't want you. Hell, they'd rather you be dead than to live." He stared at me in shock. I shrugged. "It's sad, a good man like you." "I-Is it true then?" He asked. I sighed and nodded. "Like I said. Sad." He began to get to his feet, and nodded. "Thanks lady." He said before running out of the caves and diving into the ice cold water. "Pirates are so easy to fool." I said with a smile, that's when I saw Hector's uncle whip out a gun. So did the others, I began to make my way across, kill one of 'em. Sh**. There was another gun. I ran with adrenaline pumping. "No!" I gasped, giving Jack time to shoot Barbossa as Barossa shot me straight in the head, my eyes went wide. There's the pain, that horrible nasty pain. Hector leaned over me, I was terrified, he slid his fingers over my eyes, closing mine. Good soul, 'e is. I heard Barbossa fall and Hector whispering. I began to get up, straggling to fight away the slowly ebbing pain. It needed to disperse quicker. I felt disorientated as I got to my feet, stumbling back a bit as Hector turned, his eyes beginning to widen. "What a hit." I rasped, before I felt the blood drain away from my face. "Impossible..." He managed to choked, I saw Elizabeth's and Will's stunned faces, too. And Jack's dirty grin, and mouthing. "Now's the time?" I scooped up some coins before tossing them in their direction, and surrendering to what seemed to be my only friend, that could turn me in. Water. I swam until I reached a ship, they assisted me to get to Tortuga. This seemed all too familiar, I decided to stay as vacant as could be. As soon as I got out, I turned, waving. Then I nearly fainted seeing the Kraken's arms slithering up and tugging at the rails of the ship, pulling it under. The men screamed, thrashing as they attempted to get out, but the ship sucked them in. I stumbled back, falling in the sand, feeling tears tug at my throat and sting my eyes. I had to pull myself together, but after I had my time out. My knees pulled to my face, dragging me to sobs and the sand sucking up my tears. I haven't cried like this in what seemed like forever. I swear I could hear Future whispering it was okay, someone attempting to pull me from my horrible dream. This was just a dream, I would wake up, eventually. Until then, though, I kept my eyes clamped shut, my mouth began to close. I took in a shakey breath before I fell asleep.
Chapter 22- Misadventures in Tortuga - Spoiler:
For six months I’ve been trapped on Tortuga, with no way out. I wasn’t going to get m’self a ship. There was no way in Hell I’d have to face the hassle of a crew again. I’ve seen the Dutchman once, nearly scared myself silly. Probably to make sure I wouldn’t touch the water. For whatever reason. So I sit on the beach, waiting to see the black sails arrive over the horizon. I needed to sail the sea, but not with the risk of having to go down with my ship. A few drunken men have tried to get my attention, I’ve pushed them away. I ran across a few of my crew members, but I told them if they wanted to join me, they’d be also facing a close death again. They politely declined. I’ve seen the bar fights that ended in a few deaths, I’ve strayed away from those. A few men laughing and gesturing at woman, that disgusted me, so I found myself something to sleep in safely without having to travel far into Tortuga. This rum soaked island disgusted me, but relaxed me. I knew that Jack could run out of rum at any time, and the best quality rum is from Tortuga. “’Xcuse me mizz. Iz dis spot (hic) for a seat (hic) taken.” I turned, seeing a drunken man standing there. I scowled. “Get out of here. Leave me alone.” I hissed. He shouted something I couldn’t understand. “Wait, what did you say?” I growled. He laughed and pointed at me saying the same thing I couldn’t hear. “I will kill you and gut you like a fish if you don’t leave me alone.” I hissed. He stared at me, laughed, and staggered off. I rolled my eyes and continued to watch the sea. Waiting. The sun’s baking rays suddenly ceased, I glanced up, a confused looking woman stood there, her brown hair smacked her face as a sudden gust of wind was brought up. “Bessie? He said he a’int lovin’ a woman who had a frien’ like you.” I stared at her. “You have the wrong person.” I whispered. She looked at me and began to cry. “I’m-so-sorry.” She stammered before fleeing. I turned back to the horizon as the sun began to set. I began to get to my feet with a smile. I didn’t feel as relieved as I did this moment. I let out a cry of joy and waited for it to get closer. Then I dove into my betraying friend, letting the water greet me. I swam eagerly, the whole crew abandoned ship to get their share of rum. I smirked and grabbed onto the rope, pulling myself up. I began to cough out the water. “Oy! Ye back already?” I never felt so relieved to hear Pintel’s voice bickering with Ragetti. “Musta been a gust o’ wind.” “Shaddup.” I smiled, and walked on the ship, warning myself to be quiet. I stalked under the deck, and let myself sleep. I heard footsteps, I turned and began to scrabble behind a few barrels and ropes, finding a bottle of rum. Good ol’ Jack, leaving his rum everywhere. I chuckled and took a swig, forgetting about it’s taste. I’d reveal myself all in good time.
Just like my curse. No. I’d let them figure it out.
Chapter 23- A Big Lovely Meetup Of Enemies - Spoiler:
Talk of the Dutchman woke me up from a slightly good dream. I let out a small gasp and rolled onto my arse. I crept over to a porthole, seeing the halved ship. What a clever disguise. I’ll give him that. I saw Will rowing over to the ship, my eyes narrowed. He was a goner. I saw him arrive, attempting to talk to a few shaken men. His expression screamed it all. ‘What did Jack get me into?’ My heart nearly jumped out of my body as I saw Davy Jones look over, I heard his peg leg, gasps, and little squeaks. I knew he got on deck. I heard footsteps stalk down the steps. I glanced over and narrowed my eyes, Maccus. “Come out, make it easy on ol’ Maccus.” The hammerhead man growled, his eyes searching. “Ah, I see ye, Rosey.” I fumbled for my sword, but he was over in a few seconds, clawed hands grasping my wrists and holding them together, the other firmly around my waist. He pulled me up with inhuman strength. I was pulled aboard after Davy Jones confronted Jack. I gasped as he shoved me forward, I sneered at him and whipped around, I gave him a punch on one side of the head, he growled as I twisted his arm and threw him overboard. I panted and wiped away the nervous sweat above my brow. I turned, alarmed at the clapping. I took out my pistol and pointed at Davy Jones, but Hector stared at me. “Why is it that anytime I see you, I always end up in this situation?” He asked with a smug grin. I gave him a bewildered look. “Not you, him.” I said, gesturing to my uncle. Almost on cue he pushed past the crew, stalking over to me and grasping my wrist with his crab claw, making me drop my pistol. I narrowed my eyes. “Are you quite through with running Rose? And no formal greeting for your uncle!” He snarled. The crew paused and stared over. I spat in his face. “You are no uncle of mine.” I snarled as he wiped away the spit on his face. “Best you listen up, or you’ll end with the same fate as yer family.” And with that he gave my wrist a squeeze, I gasped, feeling tingles running up and down my wrist to the end of my fingers. I stared at it in bewilderment, it was decayed. I let out a yelp as he smiled. “Wait!” Hector shouted, I let out a little sigh of comfort as I saw my flesh return. I looked up to see Davy’s peg leg in front of my face. I grimaced and backed up. “And what are you, another soul given willingly by Jack?” He chuckled. The crew began to laugh as well. “You already have your payment, Jones. One soul to serve on your ship.” Hector pointed out. “As I said before, one soul is not equivalent to another.” Davy sneered. “But hear me out, Jones-“ “-Squid Face.” I interrupted, Davy looked over and narrowed his eyes. “-We both know Jack isn’t going to be able to get one hundred souls for you in three days. He can’t even get a straight hand in poker in three days.” Hector continued. I chewed on my lower lip, he must also be a good negotiator. “If you can guarantee Jack will fail-“ Jack opened his mouth to protest, but Davy continued louder “-Then I will lay off the hunt for her-“ He gestured to me “-For only a while.” Hector shrugged. “Nearly we always draw off the beaten track, Jones.” Hector said with a smile. “Then we have an accord!” Davy laughed, peeling his tentacle-y hand off of Hector’s. He then turned back to me, my lip curled. “Don’t expect it to be over. Yer boyfriend here may have saved you now, but don’t get too comfortable. For your time is almost up.” I felt a chill run down my spine the way he accentuated time and almost up. He disappeared, his crew as well melting away. Hector stood there, staring at me. I looked down, the awkward silence was killing me. “So you were stowed away on this ship for almost a year?” He asked in amazement. I narrowed my eyes. “No. for only about six months… Jack helped me out, rum’s pretty good on an empty stomach.” Jack glared at me. “After you set off from Tortuga, I stowed away, stupidly not knowing of Jack’s debt.” I hissed, Hector laughed. “Believe me, we di’nt know either,” I chuckled nervously. “But what the bloody hell? Cursed and a spawn of the devil?” He hissed. I gave him a good smack across the face. “Just an uncle. Besides, I am definitely not” I hissed. “My mistake, love. But what the bloody hell is going on?” He asked, rubbing his face. The crew all together leaned in. I sighed and smiled, remembering one of our conversations. “You know how you said everyone has skeletons in their closets?” He smiled in recognition. “Yeah.” “Well mine are just fish.” I said with a wink.
