Dear VFKForums Community:

It has been nearly two and a half years since the Virtual Magic Kingdom closed its gates permanently. During this time of sorrow, some players of the game sought to bring back a world loved by many. Many of these ideas were scrutinized and it was proven to be that the Virtual Magic Kingdom would not reopen its gates; neither would any remake ever be possible due to copyright law, and the fact that the quality of the game would never be able to be recreated. These ideas were very true until one company came along called Narasopa Media. This company had the idea of bringing back certain aspects of the online game. They rented out a server technology known as TheoWorlds which is an ISOMetric engine ran off of the SmartFox Server technology. Many other games have also ran off of this engine (Club Penguin, Nicktropolis). The problem that many people have began to put into sheer reality is the fact that these engines could in no way ever bring back the same look and feel of the world of VMK. The only way possible for anyone or any company to ever make a world that had the same look and feel as the renowned game of VMK, was if that game met certain standards. These standards would have to be based off of some of the same types of principles that VMK shared with all of their players. If a new game was to be created it would have to be made from sole scratch. The game would have to be written by a group of developers that knew how Isometric (VMK's Walking Style) worked in order to replicate a game similar to that of VMK.

The next thing that would have to be looked at before the creation of a new game to begin would be the story and theme. No one wants to play a knock off of any type of game. "Knock-Offs" usually have a way lower quality and are never produced to a perfect extent. The new game would have to make up its own originality that was unique, and it would have to make players feel like the old magic of VMK was contained in the game. It would not be prudent for a potential creator of a new "so called" game to spin a knock off. Everything would have to be original. The next aspect that would have to be looked at would be staff support. No one in their right mind would ever want to play a game where the moderators of the game had no sense of managing a game. People want their staff members to be agile and quick to the chase to prevent all sorts of atrocity. If a game was to meet the same standards as VMK then it would have to take support and service to a whole new realm.

What is Uvora you ask?

Uvora is an online MMORPG very similar to that of Disney's Virtual Magic Kingdom. The game is based in an ISOMetric (Equal Tiling/Equal Angles) World where from the start of the game players feel energized to advance to the end of the games endless content. In Uvora the first thing a new player is brought into is an astounding Website using new state of the art technologies. Not only is Uvora similar to VMK but it is also 100% unique and astonishingly different from VMK. We've decided as a team to keep the old graphical feel of VMK, and we decided to raise the bar to bring the game above and beyond where VMK was able to take their game. Times have changed, people's Internet is getting faster. Computers are becoming more powerful. The days of old single core CPU's and Integrated GPU's are almost over. Just about everyone these days are running hyperthreaded, multicored repossessors and GPUs. So why in the world would a game still live in the 20th century? Games need to progress not digress in the genre of speed and performance. There are games out there where doing a simple function will lag up entire areas or zones of games. Some people argue that this is due to the programming language. I can assure you that in most cases, and in any case with Adobe Flash 10.1 or Higher that if any lag exists it is always due to the lack of the game's developer's knowledge or programming. Uvora does exactly what other games in the past have not, we take advantage of all the power your computer has to offer to give you the most astonishing, high detailed game.

Where and How does the development of Uvora look now?
Uvora has been in the works since January 1st 2010 behind the scenes. The game was not announced to anyone until April 1st of 2010. When this date hit we launched what we call our "wEngine" which aired and to our amazement we filled a room up with over 300 unique visitors within 10 Minutes! Though the wEngine was only a meer test to see how our server could handle multiple players, it was a wakeup call that people want change and they want something different. So the development of Uvora carried on and during this time we have recruited 50 Alpha Testers to participate in the game's "Friends and Family Closed Private Alpha Testing" stage. During this stage we plan on mass producing features of the game. Also our select 50 alpha testers will be able to give us ideas to further the progression of the game. Uvora does not yet have any kind of release date to give out to the general public. Just stay tuned as we create this exciting and amazing online world!

F.A.Q. By Arietta (Your Graphic Designer)
Characters
Characters will definitely be able to move, walk, talk, blink, wave, dance, etc. Dancing and waving will be present later on in our progression. Skin options will be available, as well as customizable faces, etc.

Clothing/Accessories
We will have costumes, basic clothing is a must and will be released during Alpha. Accessories I'll think about, but there will be head pieces .Magic will happen.

Chating
There will be a dictionary/and or word filter.

Chat bubbles will simply move up at constant time interval and disapear when they get to the top of the screen. The stroke and gradient on the bubble will most likely it will be the color of the shirt, but who knows.

Friends/Trading/Messaging
There will be private messaging among friends. There will be a friend's list. We will have tradeable objects, clothing, etc.

Furniture
The furniture items will be later on (like teleporters). There is a chance we will have ride pieces, as long as if that's what everyone wants. Furniture will be moveable, rotational, and maybe stackable in the future. There will be basic furniture. Household appliances are possible, though, not necessarily sure if we are going to do that. Posters will be a most likely. Quest kiosks will not be until later on (if we create them), but there will probably be quests.

Taking Photos
We will have a camera, but the photos will not necessarily be in sephia like vmk, we will probably have color and options for black/white and sephia. We might create the concept of a hidden figure, right now it's a whale, haha.. but who knows.

Day/Night
We actually discussed the idea of day and night, and think it is highly possible. We'll see where this idea goes.

Events/Hosting
There will be in-game hosts, best guest rooms, and best game rooms. There may be special days/events in the game. There will not be awards like "most spirited," people would fret about favoritism.

Themes
The entire game is based of an island, so there technically will be an island theme. There will most likely be an underwater theme. I don't believe we are creating an amusement park. There will be something based off a space theme (especially if you knew what the website looked like). There will not be any theme lands that are things copyrights from another company (crayola land, etc). Fantasy is very possible. Remember, we are in progress of creating Alpha.

Games
Games are going to happen, we are not sure what games we want yet. There may be a music game, sort of... except you would be able to save your songs, etc.

Other
We are having something called ID cards (which you can allow what you want set visible to), the idea is still in progress.

Uniforms/Staff
All staff members will have a lanyard as there uniform. Every other clothing piece is up to them

Who are the Current Administration Staff? (Not Mods)
Jared (Oatman) - Lead Developer/CEO
Etta (Etta) - Lead Graphic Artist
Mark (MoomaladeMuffin) - Executive Producer
Jake (Jake) - Quality Assurance

I'll believe it when I see it. Sounds promising, but I guess we've all heard that before.

Uvora isn't even supposed to BE a new VMK. The characters only look a bit like the VMK ones. Everyone keeps saying that it's gonna be the new VMK and stuff, but it's not. Don't expect it to be.
