In my own opinion music was ALOT better in the 90's and early 2000's.
Music has changed dramaticly in the past 10 years. Some for the better, and some not so much.
Your thoughts?

In the 90's not many people singed about sex. >.> The songs were more joyful...

I don't know much about the time frame of music but this is most likely true.
Music today, or at least the popular music, is so fucking terrible. x___x

i find that classic rock is better than that shitty feminine singing justin bieber or the gay jonas brothers.....or what the devil do kids listen to today....rap and hip hop...ppl call hip hop and rap an art......ppl call hentai an "art"(hentai is basically anime porn)as well!!!btu the true art is in true artists like michael jackson and weird al yankovic...two b est sogns from that time are amish paradise and white and nerdy(around 2000)

Weird Al does parodies, he certainly does NOT create art.

I think you're underestimating Rap. Most rap artists lived most of their lives with having eyes on the back of their heads. They truly do live harsh life styles, and to live up to such standards as being 1. BA has got to be stressful. Making creative beats, and clever rhymes is, in fact IMO art.

Rock music is ALSO art. Most of rock these days is filled with pure emotion. Whether it be anger, sadness, or just pure fun. It's incredible how it can manipulate our emotions so easily.

Rap and Rock are considered poetry and art in my book anyday. Usually thats how music starts. Inspiration from art or poetry.

so weird al is not an artist bc his music is making fun of another song?you know tho he makes his own lyrics and all of them one of a kind.not only does he entertain he makes ppl who will sit, listen, and enjoy his music laugh.i think weird al IS an artist but like one of those artist who makes art VERY weird hence WEIRD al...ill give an example of the art art im talking about

both classics but very weird...just like weird al.theres the king of ro9ck(elvis),king of pop(MJ),and the king of parody(al himself)..since the twoo kings i know are dead i say.... long live king al!!!

so bc someone laughs its automatuically not art?
seriously tho he has won awards for his music and people happen to laugh so what?!its your OPINION if he is an artist but the fract is that anyone who sings pro or amateur is still considered an artist.there are many types of art and comedy IS ONE OF THEM.in my opinion one of the best arts.not just bc it entertains people but bc alot of ppl prefer it over sad,romance,action/adventure,and horror.and isnt that what art is for?to keep ppl from being bored?and isnt that what entertainment does?keep ppl from being bored?so as long as ppl are entertained its art.and just bc it doesnt entertain YOU doesnt mean its not art.it just means you have different tastes

If i'm not mistaken you claimed rap, and other styles of music these days was NOT art.

Yet you just said that anybody who sings or performs professionally in music IS an artist.

I respect your opinions, but I was defending mine just as you are defending yours.

mumupy. Weird al is NOT art he's just being stupid and shit. You know I can make shitty funny lyrics on the spot to. It's not that hard. Anyways Weird Al doesn't actually create the whole art picture. Only the lyrics. The backround music also counts dude.

Oh and while the words in songs are considered art, it's also the beat and how the words fit in dude.
