PROLOGUE. - Spoiler:
The young man sat, admiring his beloved charms. Each charm had a symbol on it, a symbol for an element: Light, Dark, Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire. The balenin they were called, given the name by his ancestors. He studied the symbols, imprinting them into his brain. As he finished fastening the charms back onto his belt, the door exploded.
“Give us the charms!” Yelled Carter, the Coldheart's leader, as the stormed in through the now broken door. “Not on my life, Carter!” He yelled back, aiming his hand at Carter, sending a ray of elements his way. “Oh, be a lad, Jackie, just give them to me!” He said calmly as he deflected the ray.
The Coldheart's were an evil group, controlled by who everyone thought was the devil, but was only a young boy, who harnessed the power of the elements through evil.
Jackie stood his ground, waiting for Carter's attack, but it never came. When Jackie blinked, Carter was gone, and everything was in it's place, back at the festival where he sat, waiting for the children to come buy a charm.
Hmph, Jackie thought, I'm seeing the future again...
CHAP 1. - Spoiler:
I sat on a bench at the festival, eating funnel cake with Lynn. “So, do you like the fair, Rina?” Lynn asked, stuffing her face with funnel cake. “Yeah, I guess. I can tell you're having a good time, though.” I laughed, throwing her a napkin. “Oh, yeah, thanks!” She said, wiping bits of excess funnel cake off her face. I laughed again, Lynn getting her black hair even messier with funnel cake. “Oh!” She exclaimed, “Will you go on the roller coaster with me?” She batted her dark brown eyes, half expecting me to give in. “Lynn! You know I hate roller coasters...” I whined. “Yeah, but they're awesome! You have to!” “Hmm... Fine...” I finally agreed after several minutes of thinking. § “Come on, Nora!” Alec practically begged me as he pulled me over to Rina and Lynn in line for the roller coaster. “I'm going! Gosh... You just run to fast! Lynn, you texted us?” “Yeah, I did! You guys should come on the roller coaster with us!” She explained. “Cool, sure.” I agreed, stepping into line behind them. “Totally!” Alec cheered, following me into the line. § I walked through the festival, checking a text from Lynn on my phone: Roller coaster. We're all in line. Come on, Matt! Oh, and bring Zach, too!“Yeah, yeah.” I thought to myself, sliding my hand through my orange hair, making my way to the roller coaster. “Come on, Zach. Lynn and everyone is already at the roller coaster saving us a spot in line.” “Oh, awesome!” Zach said, jogging to catch up with me.
CHAP2. - Spoiler:
After the roller coaster ride, we all sat on a couple of benches, eating some pizza. “So, Rina, Nora, what did you think of The Speed Demon?” Ask Matt, flashing us his devil grin. “Oh, it was.. Speedy enough..” Explained Rina. “If you ask me, it went to fast.” I protested. I finished eating my pizza, and threw away my play, when an odd vendor caught my eye. Being curious as I am, I walked over and looks at the cool charms he had. “Ah, I see I have a buyer?” The man questioned me. “Oh, just looking.” I replied, smiling, when an odd group of charms caught my eye. “Excuse me, sir?” “Yes, darling?” “What are these.. Charms, here?” I asked. “Oh, those are the balenin, or elemental, charms.” He said coolly. “ Balenin?” I repeated, “How much do they cost?” “Oh, for you? I'll give 'em to ya for free.” “Oh, really, that's so ni--” “Watcha looking at, Nora?” Zach asked, running up to me. I ignored his question, turning back to the vender. “That's really nice of you,” I said as he handed me 6 different charms. “One for each element. Also great friendship bracelets.” He said, referring to our little group. “Oh, well, thanks!” I called, pulling Zach away. § “Cool, let me see!” Rina said, taking a yellow charm from Nora. “Awesome!” Matt and Zach both said, Matt taking a red one, Zach taking a white one. Alec stood a few feet away from our little group, looking over the black charm he picked out. Nora was quiet, too, checking out a green one. I was left with a blue charm, my favorite color. “These are so cool!” I exclaimed, everyone agreeing with me. We all slid the bracelet-charms onto our wrists, laughing and joking around. “Oh, the festival closes in an hour...” Rina said, disappointment on her face. “Oh, come on, Rina! Be a pal, let's all go to my house and hang or something.” Matt said, leading us back to the car. “I'll drive.”
CHAP3 - Spoiler:
I slid into the drivers seat and put the car into ignition after everyone buckled up. “So, my house, right?” I asked. “Yeah, okay, sure,” Everyone agreed. I pulled out of the parking space, driving down the road to my house. § As I was packing up the rest of the charms and medallions, I felt the presence of Carter almost immediately. “So, Jackie,do you have those charms for me yet?” He asked, his voice annoyed. “Oh, sorry, Carter, just gave them away to a nice group of kids.” I looked up at him, a warning saying Don't go near them... on my face.
